PRINCIPAL MIKE BROWNING

Biography: Mr. Browning is excited for his opportunity to work with the community members, staff members, parents, students, strong traditions and school culture which make Orem High School a leading high school in the State of Utah.  He began his career in education working in Provo School District.  While completing his undergraduate work at BYU he supervised students in evening after school activities at Independence High School.  Upon graduation from BYU with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Special Education he took his first teaching job as a classroom teacher in northern Montana.  Thanks to his wife, Rebecca (Stewart) Browning of Provo, Utah, they returned to Utah, a few years later, to be nearer family and again worked for Provo School District  at Independence High working with the Youth in Custody program.  He then administered a district truancy program before being appointed as the lead teacher/administrator for Slate Canyon School - housed in the Utah County juvenile lock down facility.  He earned a Masters of Educational Leadership from BYU and took an administrative position with Alpine School District at Mountain Ridge Junior High as an Assistant Principal.  He has since served as the Secondary Director of Special Education, Assistant Principal at Timpanogos High and most recently Principal of Willowcreek Middle School.  Mr. Browning was elated to receive his current assignment as Principal of Orem High.  He and Rebecca have four children: David, Paige, Maddi and Jessica.

ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL MIKE LARSON

Biography: Mike Larson has been at Orem High School since the 2010-2011 school year.  He is a lifelong resident of Orem and is very grateful to have been assigned to Orem High.  He graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor's Degree in Japanese and a Political Science Minor and then attended Weber State University where he received his teaching degree in Social Studies.  Mr. Larson taught Psychology and US History at Timpanogos High School before pursuing a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from BYU.  He is the lucky husband of Candace Larson and is the proud father of 5 children; Zachary, Calder, Meridian, Ammon, and Truman.

ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL MIKE MAY

Biography: Mr. May is very excited to be at Orem High School to assist in carrying on the great tradition of excellence that make OHS a special place to be. He began his time as an assistant principal at Orem High School in 2011. Prior to coming to Orem High School, he served as mission president over the Chile Santiago North Mission for the LDS church. Mr. May served as a teacher and coach in California, Argentina and Utah for 28 years before becoming an administrator. His first administrative assignment as an assistant principal was at Willowcreek Middle School followed by two years at Canyon View Junior High School. Mr. May earned his Master of Arts Degree in Educational Administration from Southern Utah University and his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Physical Education from Brigham Young University. He served an LDS church mission to Santa Cruz, Bolivia, and he graduated from El Camino Real High School in southern California. He was a member of the 1976-78 BYU Mens Basketball team. Mr. May is married to the former Carol Glazier of Rialto, California, and they are the parents of five children: Eric, Andrew, Steven, Gregory and Sarah and grandparents of Benson and Ella.

ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL MARK CLINTON

Biography: This will be the seventh year working as an administrator in addition to 22 years in the classroom for Mark Clinton.  he has a Bachelors Degree in Secondary Education,and a Masters Degree in Secondary Educational Administration from Pacific Lutheran University.  He played and coached football at the high school, college, and pro levels and has been an avid golfer and fly fisherman for many years. Defining and implementing respect and discipline has been his mission in everything he is striving to accomplish in education.  Jana, his wife of 33 years, two children, Mark Jr. and Brittany, and four grandchildren (more on the way) are what gives him a country song to sing every morning.  He is very thankful to be working at Orem High School where he is surrounded by students and colleagues that challenge him to pursue excellence everyday.
